POSITION: CAD Designer/Drafter
FLSA: Full Time, Hourly
Location: Onsite, 5980 Grand Haven Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49441
General Summary:
The CAD Designer/Drafter will collaborate with our engineering team to create detailed technical drawings, bills of materials, and engineering documentation. This role supports the development of new products and components, ensuring that manufacturing processes and customer requirements are met efficiently. The CAD Designer/Drafter will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager to deliver precise and clear engineering support documentation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Creates drawings incorporating compliance with industry accepted GD&T methodology.
2. Coordinates with engineering, purchasing and production to provide detailed bill of materials, drawings, and routings that ensure-on-time delivery of make-to-order components and conveyor systems.
3. Creates engineering documentation to support product design, sales, and manufacturing including assemblies, specification, and R&D drawings.
4. Identifies problems as they occur and suggests appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex.
5. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from others
6. Work with multiple CAD platforms used by Dynamic Conveyor Corp.
7. Maintains a clean and safe working environment according to company policy.
8. Performs other duties as assigned and assists other employees of the company whenever possible.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Associate’s degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training.
2. One – two years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.
3. Ability to proficiently operate Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software.
4. Ability to proficiently utilize Office 365 programs and Microsoft Teams.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Good communication skills with the ability to converse professionally, both written and orally.
7. Self-directed with the ability to organize and follow through on work assignments/duties.
8. Quality control mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Must be able to work overtime when needed to meet the deadlines.
