JOB DESCRIPTION: Special Projects Assembler
FLSA: Full Time, Hourly, Comprehensive Benefit Package, Onsite, 1st Shift 7:00am – 3:30pm, Immediate Opening
We are a growing company at the forefront of conveyance innovation, seeking an adaptable, self-driven Special Projects Assembler to join our fast-paced and versatile production team. As a key player in our operations, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, honing your skills in an enterprising environment.
As a Special Projects Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and testing custom conveyors, working on special projects that range from prototyping to complex assembly. The ideal candidate is passionate about building and problem-solving, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in an ever-changing work environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates electrical and pneumatic hand tools and sets-up and runs machines necessary to fabricate, assemble and test make-to-order parts and conveyor systems.
- Works with Engineering to verify accuracy of drawings, bills of materials and routings of make-to-order components and conveyor systems.
- Provides hands-on, mechanical support, as needed in a manufacturing department.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment according to company policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Manager and assists other employees of the company whenever possible.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical and pneumatic drawings.
- Capability to utilize 3D software to build conveyor systems.
- Mechanical skills and aptitude with the ability to operate machines (mill, lathe, drill press, router).
- Basic electrical wiring training or experience.
- Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
- Ability to organize and follow through on work assignments.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
- Quality control mindset with the ability to monitor all work for accuracy.
- Experience to utilize spreadsheet, database and email programs within a Windows environment.
- Ability to inspect and recognize quality problems.
